Welcome to WMS Aquatics' Aquatic Facility Operator (AFO) Certification Course—affectionately known around here as "Pool School." We are excited to host you right in our hometown of Ellensburg, in the heart of Washington state!
AFO is the premier training program for swimming pool operations. Over two days, you will get up-to-date training on water chemistry, disinfection, mechanical systems, and safety.

Course Details
- Schedule: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM both days (Lunch from 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM).
- Location: Ellensburg, WA
- The Exam: Open-book, paper exam on Day 2. You get your results immediately.
- Continuing Education: Pre-approved for 1.5 CEUs.
- Class Capacity: Limited to 20 spots. If the course looks full but you only need the recertification exam, give us a call and we will try to squeeze you in!
- Requirements: You must be 18 or older with a high school diploma (or equivalent) to take the exam.
- Cancellations: Full refund if cancelled 3+ months out; 50% refund at 1–2 months; no refunds within 30 days of the course.
Pricing & Packages
- Full Certification Course ($350): Includes all instruction, study materials, the AFO manual, the exam, your certificate, and a catered lunch both days.
- Recertification Exam Only ($125): For those with a current, unexpired certification. The exam starts at 2:00 PM on Day 2 (please arrive at 1:30 PM to check in). Note: CEUs do not apply.
